Shelley Michelson is Principal and Founder of Healthcare Analytics, LLC, a firm specializing in the assessment of healthcare credit risk for portfolio managers, institutional investors, healthcare mortgage bankers, information service providers and other interested parties.
Shelley is an experienced hospital credit analyst who has consistently delivered superior results both in originating new business and in mitigating or eliminating portfolio risk. She conceives innovative solutions and forges consensus through negotiation with disparate parties. Shelley has worked with hospitals, bankers and legal counsel in the financial guaranty space to structure sound and innovative capital financing programs and has negotiated legal documents for both new issuances and credit forbearance agreements. She maintains strong customer relationships leading to exclusive business opportunities and adheres to the highest ethical standards.
Shelley has directed remedial action for financially challenged credits, identifying underperforming portfolio risks before rating agency downgrades occurred, deploying early remediation strategies that led to removal of those credits from the portfolio and/or risk mitigation through negotiation of stronger financial and covenant protections. Shelley holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from New York University.
